DIY Facial Mist

DIY Facial Mist

You can find the information about facial mists in my blog: what they are, why they are used etc. They are simply great to refresh and hydrate your face. Many organic or drugstore brand facial mist sprays can be expensive. A cost-effective solution is to make your own home made facial mist with simple ingredients you can obtain easily.

Here you will find the recipe to make your own facial mist at home.

All you need is:

1) Spray bottle

2) Purified/distilled water

3) Glycerin

4) Essential oil of your choice (rose/ lavender / eucalyptus / chamomile)

Where to obtain the ingredients:

You can obtain spray bottle from any drugstore, bottled distilled water from grocery store or gas station or pharmacies, glycerin from drugstores and essential oils from anywhere selling natural organic products.

Why distilled water?
When you are making a facial mist, it is better to use distilled water. The harder the water, the higher the mineral count and the more chance of a dry and irritated skin. You can also use drinking water after you boil it.

After obtaining the necessary ingredients, follow these easy steps to make it:

Step 1. Fill your 3/4 of your spray bottle with pure water
Step 2. Add 1 tsp of glycerin in the spray bottle
Step 3. Add 5 drops of rose oil and 5 drops of other essential oil of your choice
Step 4. Replace the spay nozzle, close the spray bottle and shake the bottle to mix the oils and water.

Your facial spray is ready!!!!!

Now you can liberally spray it on your face!

COFFEE: History, Types, Tastes and Flavors

Coffee is a brewed beverage with a strong flavor prepared from the roasted seeds of the coffea plant. The beans are found in coffee "cherries", which grow on trees cultivated in over 70 countries, primarily in equatorial Latin America, Southeast Asia, South Asia and Africa.

TYPES OF COFFEE

Coffee tree

There are two predominant species of coffee plant: Coffea arabica, known as Arabica coffee, accounts for 75-80% of the world's production. Coffea canephora, known as Robusta coffee, accounts for about 20% and differs from the Arabica coffees in terms of taste.

Coffee beans of the Arabica type are widely considered to have the best flavor profiles, while the Robusta type is predominantly grown for its hardiness and ability to thrive where Arabica cannot. Within Arabica, however, there are many different varietals, each of which produce coffee beans with distinct flavors and characteristics.

HISTORY OF COFFEE

Today, with over 400 billion cups of coffee served around the globe, coffee is the world’s most popular beverage and is ranked the second most valuable commodity after oil. As popular as coffee is today, this unanimous approval and acceptance was not always the case. Coffee faced many obstacles and barriers throughout its long and eventful history. It has been banned under acts of prohibition, smuggled across oceans, and even condemned as Satan’s brew. All told, a fascinating story behind this humble beverage!

Coffee was first discovered in the mountains of Ethiopia (Abyssinia). One of the most popular legends dates back to the 9th century A.D in Abyssinia, the story of a goatherd named Kaldi who lived in the Kaffa region. Kaldi noticed that his goats would become more lively and animated after eating the red berries from a nearby plant. Kaldi tried the berries himself and soon found that he too was full of energy.

From Ethiopia, coffee was said to have spread to Egypt and Yemen. The earliest credible evidence of either coffee drinking or knowledge of the coffee tree appears in the middle of the fifteenth century, in the Sufi monasteries of Yemen. By the 16th century, it had reached the rest of the Middle East, Persia, Turkey, and northern Africa. Coffee then spread to Balkans, Italy, and to the rest of Europe, to Indonesia, and to the Americas.

What coffee means to me, personally

What Coffee Means To Me:

A cup of heavenly smelling, freshly brewed, deliciously flavored coffee makes us have casual, sincere, informal conversations with family and friends. If you are "talking over a cup of coffee", it is a relaxed and informal chat.

Making someone a cup of coffee, is a friendly invitation to such a chat.

However, when you invite someone home for a cup of coffee after a date, it usually means intimacy.

HOW TO HIGHLIGHT YOUR FACE: Magazine Look

Highlighting your face makes your skin glow, helps to minimize or maximize facial features and gives you that finished sheen you see in magazines.

It makes you look healthier, glowy and gorgeous when you illuminate the right places of your face.

All you need is a product at least 2 shades lighter than your skin and it should contain slight shimmer to make you glow.

You should be careful where to highlight, as highlighting makes pop the area. If applied on wrong places, it will make you look older, shiny or greasy.

There are plenty of highlight products, in cream, liquid or powder form.

NARS Illuminator

MAC Color Base-Pearl  (My favorite for cheekbones and browbones)

MAC Paint Pot-Painterly

If you haven't bought any yet, you can use a nude/vanilla color eye shadow for highlighting.

Places to highlight:

1)Top of your cheekbones
2)Under your eyes (after concealing dark circles)and corner of your eyes
3)On your browbone
4)Center of your forehead
5)Straight down the middle of your nose
6)middle of the top of your lip
7)Your chin

Highlighting your face

- If your product is in powder form, you will need a highlight brush.
