Best 5 Face Powders

Translucent face powder and its traveling companion, the pressed powder compact, were makeup kit staples forever. A light dusting as a final step was supposed to make your makeup last and prevent shine.
Then the big glow trend hit and suddenly everything and everyone was dewy, luminous, light reflecting and shimmery. Well, powder is back which proves once again beauty is as cyclical as fashion. But like style, it never comes back exactly the same way. Now it's reincarnated as a foundation substitute, pore refinisher, skin freshener.

Here are my best 5 face powders:

1. M.A.C. studio fix powder plus foundation

A one-step application of foundation and powder. Gives skin a smooth, flawless, all-matte, full-coverage finish. Long-wearing: lasts for up to eight hours. A real all-in-one. The choice of pros, and a long time favourite of M∙A∙C fans.

2. Clinique Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder

An oil-free, shine-absorbing pressed powder.
The ultra-sheer texture of this pressed powder gives skin a perfected matte appearance. It's great for oily skin and oily spots and maintains a fresh look and feel, even after frequent touch-ups. It provides sheer-to-moderate coverage.

For dry-combination to oily and very-oily skin types. Non-acnegenic.

3. Bare Escentuals Hydrating Mineral Veil

Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil is a sheer finishing powder that minimizes pores for the look of beautiful bare skin. It's light as a feather so all you'll see is shine-free skin. Perfect to use throughout the day. Talc and fragrance free. Wear over bareMinerals SPF 15 Foundation or complete look for a gorgeous, airbrushed finish.

4. Bobby Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder

A finely milled, translucent face powder to set foundation and cut excess shine.

Bobbi's long-lasting, super-sheer powder sets and perfects color to create a smooth, flawless finish. This oil-absorbing sheer powder is 100% oil-free, with vitamin E for the most comfortable wear. In a sleek, square compact, Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder is elegant and easy to carry with you throughout the day.

5. Make Up Forever HD Microfinish Powder

This stark white powder looks invisible when applied,  feels incredibly smooth, and sets the foundation beautifully. On top of this, it manages to mattify skin without leaving it looking flat!

Made from 100% mineral silica powder. Microfinish Powder was created to give skin a softer look, as HD cameras see everything, and helps to "blur"  imperfections.

These face powders are my best 5!!! You should try yourself to find which fits you most... Enjoy yourselves!

Garnier Anti Dark Circles Eye Roll-on

Garnier Light Eye Roll-On is another Garnier product that I am totally in love with. It has double effect on dark circles and bags : It covers your dark circles very well as well as hydrating and soothing your eye area. It contains caffeine (stimulating action) and lemon extract (clarifying properties) and the massaging ball offers a complete care combining immediate soothing of the tired eye area and covering/ illuminating dirk circles and bags. The formula also contains UV protection for the eye contour.

Easily applied with its roller...

Once rolled onto the eye area, it blends easily and smoothly. I, personally, use my ring finger to blend gently, I want to blend it with my skin… not rub it away!

Once blended, I’m pretty happy with the effect. I’ll definitely be carrying this in my makeup bag for touch-ups throughout the day. Oh, one more thing: Very important and hugely positive. No creasing! I even layered it for more coverage and didn’t notice it seeping into the fine lines at all. And it definitely soothes... I love it! Don't forget to fix it with your light colored face powder. Its staying power definitely improves that way.

It has 2 shades : light, and medium/dark. I recommend light one. Whatever your skin colour may be, light shade is better for illuminating effect.

A must have with or without make-up!!!!

Daily Makeup Tips: OFFICE MAKEUP

The purpose of daily makeup is generally to maintain your looks on a regular basis. So this includes the simple things that help you proceed in your daily life. Applying makeup on a daily basis often helps the women feel more confident. Here are some recommendations on how you should apply office make-up and some certain points you should take into account.

OFFICE MAKEUP LOOK

Daily Makeup Tips

·         Always remember that while using the cosmetics on a daily basis you should use only quality products.

·         Therefore choosing the cosmetics is an important step as it is directly related to the skin care and health.

·         For the purpose of daily makeup usually powder cosmetics are preferred because they not only keep the shine under control but also contain less preservatives and skin irritants as compared to the liquid ones.

·         In case you cannot avoid use of the liquid foundation then you should opt for one, which has a silicone base because the silicone base does not cause acne.

·         If you apply makeup daily then you also need to remove it daily and for this you may need to use the makeup remover.

·   But remember that using makeup remover to clean out waterproof cosmetics also wipes out the protective layer of sebum from the skin, therefore you should use waterproof cosmetics only occasionally and not on routine basis.

·         You should never use the cosmetics that have crossed their expiry dates because it could be extremely harmful.

·  You should also wash and clean the makeup brushes and sponges regularly.

·         Normal life span of the cosmetics
-Mascaras: about 3 to 4 months
-Foundations: last for 1 year
-Lipsticks: last for 1 year
-Powder: last for about 2 years
-Eye shadows: last for about 2 years.
For the purpose of daily makeup, pencil eyeliner and eyebrow pencils that are wax based should be preferred because they can be cleaned off easily by using water only.

·         For the daily makeup light earth tones are preferable as they not only give a natural look but also are less likely to cause skin irritation than the darker colors.

·         You should use a broad-spectrum sunscreen. The sunscreen with a Sun Protection Factor 15 or higher and with ingredients such as zinc oxide or titanium dioxide is very effective in avoiding the harmful effects of UVA rays.

DAILY MAKEUP LOOK
NATURAL MAKEUP LOOK

GOLDEN TIP:

When applying makeup on a daily basis, in other words when we apply makeup for the office, usually less is more color-wise. Never overdo when it is for office.

Office is social place where the impact of your personality counts a lot. Professional clothes, shoes, tidy hair styles are not enough for your office look, one should also learn to wear a good make-up as well.
Make-up is a very significant component of your overall appearance. One needs to be very particular about the make-up for office. You should go for a soft make-up as you should maintain a natural look.

A Lifestyle "BOHEMIA"

Bohemian woman is a very passionate and emotional woman, who lives an artistic lifestyle and whose perspective towards life, herself and her relationships is unconventional. She makes everyone feel her existence in each and every place with her natural behaviour. She’s sometimes a child, sometimes seductive but mostly wild. She is not afraid of reflecting her feelings and her inner world out. She’s not into ordinary life matters, rather she’s into herself, her hobbies and loved ones. Not domestic or self-sacrificing. She’s herself. Fearless. Self-esteemed. She is the kind that never fits in. She shows her “difference” with her clothing and outlook as well. Casual comfort is the key for bohemian clothing: Natural, simple and raw. Long, flowing hair…, loose curls… With natural or no make-up.
She places freedom of self expression above all other desires, including wealth, social conformity and status. She’s not into rules. This free-spirit, nomadic woman is where she wants to be, and does whatever she wants to do.
The term “bohemian” originated in France during the 19th century due to the influx of gypsies believed to be traveling from Czech Republic’s, Bohemia. The term quickly became generalized, however, indicative of a lifestyle rather than a nationality.
Do we love the bohemian woman?
The film industry, the music industry, the painters, the writers and the poets love this woman very much... moreover adore and  praise her. Respect her because of her free and artistic lifestyle. She’s not ordinary. She rejects traditional family. She knows what she wants. She’s aware of both the world around her and herself. She’s highly intellectual. She’s a person herself. A worker. She questions. Rejects materialism. She controls her own life and draws her own path. She knows and embraces the strengths and weaknesses of her humanity. She sometimes gives in to her weaknesses as she is down to earth. She is surrounded by men loving and admiring her. However, this unconventional, sexually free yet “fearless” woman cannot love back the way she is expected to as she is attracted more to freedom. To her, "True love is boundless like the ocean and, swelling within one, spreads itself out and, crossing all boundaries and frontiers, envelops the whole world" as M.K. Gandhi said.
The art embraces “the bohemian”... as “The bohemia” hosts the art in itself...

Gustave Flaubert’s novel “Mademe Bovary”, “grisette” figure in mid 19th century’s popular literature, Henri Murger’s tales, Puccinni’s famous opera “La boheme”, Paul Poiret’s fashion designs, Renoir’s “The Bohemian” painting, Rosetti’s painting “Bocca Baciata”, Aki Kaurismaki’s movie “La vie de boheme”,   Victor Hugo’s “Esmeralda” figure in his novel “Notre Dame de Paris”,Ridley Scott’s movie ”Thelma and Louise”, the movement of “The Beat Generation” writers in 1950s which incorporated into the hippie counterculture in 1960s...

We are the music makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams;—
World-losers and world-forsakers,
On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers
Of the world for ever, it seems.

~Arthur O'Shaughnessy, "Ode," 1874
What happens in real world?
They are the weird girls who didn't fit in . . . the little girls your parents wouldn't let you play with . . . the teen-agers who dressed in black, the bad girls who climbed out of our bedroom windows after dark and caught taxis home at dawn. They are the daughters of Lilith, Lily Munster, Patti Smith and Emma Goldman. They are the women your preachers warn you about.
The bohemian woman is not accepted and respected in real world as she is embraced and admired by the arts and the artists. Rather, she scares her surrounding and mostly men around her. Her unconventional, untraditional and fearless manners put the gentlemen off. They don’t trust her. And they believe they can never own this free-spirit. “They don’t like her.”
The modern bohemian woman may prefer to be single rather than being in a relationship of “chains” and restrictions...
The single bohemian woman is on her own now, thinks of only herself and knows that spending quality time alone is the most important thing about being single. She enjoys her “single-dom”, which means “freedom”, something she can never give up.  Having fun and achieving goals can help her forget about her relationship status, but above all, it gives her the opportunity to cherish the most important person in her life, which is herself!
The modern world is a hard place for a “Modern” Bohemian. It is full of technology and pollution, and obsessed with socio-economic status, power, money and success. Could a bohemian find a way to make the two worlds meet?

cut your own hair (layered cut)

For some people, going to the hair salon is an enjoyable experience. For others, it is something that they would rather not do. Whether it is because of the cost or other factors, if you decide to cut your own hair, here is how to do a quick layered haircut.

The tools you will need are:

1)   A comb

2)   Shears or hair cutting sharp scissors

3)   Hair clip

4)   A mirror

Cutting hair is not a big deal and doing it yourself can save you lots of money and time. Eliminate the dependency on your hair stylist!!!! Follow these easy steps to cut your own hair in layers and have fun!

1)   Shampoo and condition your hair, as wet and conditioned hair is easier to comb and cut.

2)   Comb your hair as straight as you can
3)   Bend over, flip your head upside- down, so that the crown of your head points toward the floor.

4)   Comb all your hair straight down so it hangs neatly. (All of your hair, including that at the nape of your neck, should point toward the floor.)

5)  Gather your hair into a high ponytail as close to your front hairline as possible and secure it with a hair clip.

6)   Choose a length that you want to cut. It's always a good idea to cut it slightly longer than you want. You can always cut it a bit shorter.

7)   Begin cutting a straight line across the ponytail. Cutting a straight line will automatically layer your hair, as you are cutting across many different lengths of hair while they hang down. (Each hair will be at the same length)

8)   Finish cutting the straight line, unsecure your hairclip, shake your hair loose and flip your head back up.

9)   Comb your hair straight again.

10) Refine your layers by combing small sections and holding them between your pointer and middle finger with the ends pointing up. Snip off any stragglers.

11)Cut bangs by combing a section above your forehead down across your eyes. Be careful not to include side hairs. Comb them straight, take your bangs between your index and middle fingers and pull them down and carefully trim all the way across. Check the length and repeat if necessary. Remember to cut across for a straight bang or cut diagonal (angled) for a side-swept bangs that fall across the eyes. Don't try to trim too much length at once. You can make the line of your bangs less blunt-looking by diagonally cutting the tips of a few strands of hair across your bangs. Be careful not to overdo.

This is how i cut my own hair and bangs!

Tips & Warnings

Layering your own hair perfectly takes time and attention to make sure every strand is at the same length. Consider help from a friend. The biggest piece of advice I can give you in learning how to cut your own hair is to only trim off a little at a time until you are more comfortable with it. You can always go back to trim more if you need to.

Additionally, do not become scissor-happy with your own hair. I have a habit of trimming once a month. The truth is that it's practically impossible to eliminate every split end on your head. There's no need to be manic about split ends. So, determine a trimming schedule and stick to it.
